Twelve mechanical plants at different stages of growth spring from this mixture of wood. Like skies shifting as the hours pass, each tree is coloured and varnished with a rough patina. At a constant rhythm, the youth of each piece fades to welcome a new reality in its place. With a fatalistic positivity, man contemplates his own ageing. This piece fully represents the artist’s optimistic vision and his confidence in the future. Often surprising, sometimes dismaying, we must accept a continuing series of future unknowns, as the end is the only thing that is certain.
